1. Poor design

A potential customer decides in seconds if your site has what they need so first impressions really do count. Don’t put them off by poor graphics, bad copy writing, confusing layout.

2. Obstacles

Assuming your customers stays on the site, this means they want something – don’t put obstacles in their way! Don’t hide products and make sure the “buy” button is clear. You need to make it easy for you customer to do three things:

Determine what is being sold
Be clear why they should buy it
Buy the product!

3. Poor Marketing

With over 100 million websites, how will customers find yours ? Consider advertising, leaflets, SEO. None of this comes free, but without it you might struggle to attract an audience.

4. Navigation

Ensure everything on the web store has a purpose. Make it easy to navigate around the site and you’ll help stop your customers from going elsewhere.

5. Bad Service

Once you have the customers, you need to treat them well. Handle any complaints or issues fairly and effectively and they will come back – and likely recommend you to friends and coleagues.

JShop eCommerce Dropshipping

Rapid development of dropship site built on Jhop eCommerce engine.

Have been working on a rapid development of a custom Jshop integration for a new customer which will see the new ecommerce site updated nightly automatically from a number of feeds provided by their supplier.

The automation will update a product base of around 25,000 items automatically and create any new products along with their associated categories and sections structures.

A large part of the routine is to ensure that all the existing products are up to date, especially with stock figures, availability and pricing.

Our customer s supplier provides access to an image library for art work and our system will automatically access this library for the high resolution images and copy them to our server for automatic thumbnailing to the required sizes and location.

Performing another scan of the database will check that all products have an image file, any missing files will have their record flagged and reprocessed for imagery collection.

Overall this means that the supplier could add an untold amount of new products and our customer has to do nothing to start selling them.
